Senior Assortment Planner
Our client is seeking a Senior Assortment Planner to drive data-informed merchandise strategies, ensuring financial discipline, inventory health, and consumer-focused product plans. This role blends analytical rigor with cross-functional partnership, supporting both pre-season planning and in-season optimization. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and translating complex data into clear business actions.

This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Senior Assortment Planner Responsibilities

  • Build and manage detailed merchandise and assortment plans that align sales, margin, and inventory objectives.
  • Own open-to-buy forecasts and retail math analyses to guide buying decisions and in-season adjustments.
  • Develop seasonal buy strategies and rolling forecasts at a granular product level.
  • Evaluate weekly business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Partner closely with merchandising, planning, and brand stakeholders to maintain business alignment.
  • Support monthly and seasonal inventory planning activities using data, reporting tools, and analytics.
  • Communicate financial and assortment insights through clear presentations and planning forums.

Senior Assortment Planner Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to model, analyze, and interpret large data sets.
  • Strong understanding of retail math, financial planning concepts, and open-to-buy management.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in merchandise planning, assortment planning, or a related discipline.
  • General knowledge of retail operations, inventory flows, and product life cycle dynamics.
  • Experience working effectively within cross-functional or matrixed team structures.
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to present to and influence stakeholders.
  • Proven adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, and a collaborative working style.

Compensation: Up to $37.32/hr. (DOE)
