Senior Apparel Designer
Our client is seeking a Senior Apparel Designer to support the research, development, and execution of performance-driven apparel from early concept through production. This role partners closely with a small, highly collaborative team to translate creative vision into thoughtfully constructed product solutions, with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, innovation, and confidentiality. The position supports seasonal initiatives tied to basketball uniforms and related systems, with limited domestic travel as needed.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Senior Apparel Designer Responsibilities
- Lead apparel design development from initial ideation through finalized product execution, ensuring concepts align with performance needs, consumer insights, and business objectives.
- Translate creative direction into clear design solutions by developing detailed sketches, visual presentations, and technical assets using industry-standard design tools.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product creation, development, and external partners to bring concepts to life while maintaining design integrity and feasibility.
- Apply a deep understanding of materials, construction methods, and apparel engineering to inform design decisions and prototype development.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, balancing creative ambition with timelines, cost considerations, and production constraints.
- Communicate design intent clearly through presentations, documentation, and internal reviews to support alignment and informed decision-making.
- Contribute to testing, refinement, and iteration of designs to validate performance, construction, and overall product quality.
- Uphold strict confidentiality standards when working with sensitive product, concept, and seasonal information.
Senior Apparel Designer Qualifications
- Minimum of 8-9 years of experience in an apparel or product design role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design execution.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Keynote, with the ability to create clear, compelling design presentations.
- Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to take direction, listen actively, and adapt quickly within a fast-moving team environment.
- Solid understanding of apparel construction, materials, and product development processes.
- Proven ability to work within budget parameters while maintaining design quality and innovation.
- Experience using 3D design tools such as CLO is a plus.
- Prior experience within large-scale athletic or performance apparel environments is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field preferred, though equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Compensation: Up to $56.67/hr. (DOE)
