Technical Lead
Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to partner closely with both technology and business stakeholders to design, build, and support scalable application solutions. This role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, requiring someone who can translate complex business needs into well-architected systems while guiding development teams through delivery, release planning, and production support.
This role is a hybrid model in Portland, Oregon.
Technical Lead Responsibilities
- Lead technical analysis, solution design, and implementation across enterprise-level applications.
- Collaborate with business partners and IT teams to clearly define problems, requirements, and technical approaches.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including system designs and detailed specifications.
- Provide technical direction to application engineers, including code reviews, development guidance, and problem resolution.
- Coordinate with other technical leaders to plan releases, align dependencies, and communicate requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues while ensuring solutions meet performance, scalability, and quality standards.
- Contribute directly to development efforts, including coding, testing, and deployment activities.
- Estimate engineering effort and support planning in collaboration with project and delivery partners.
- Promote and apply best practices related to code quality, testing, and maintainability.
Technical Lead Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience developing applications using C# in enterprise environments.
- Strong background in object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
- Proven experience building and supporting multi-tier, business-critical applications.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Solid expertise with RESTful web services and HTTP protocols.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts.
- Experience working with modern JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with single-page application architectures (e.g., React or Angular).
- React Native experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in modern HTML and CSS standards.
- Experience creating automated unit tests and working in a test-driven development environment.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot performance issues using .NET or Java profiling tools.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to lead discussions and present technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, business partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Java development experience is a plus, but not required.
