Our History
VanderHouwen was established in Portland, Oregon in 1987 by Kirby and Kathy VanderHouwen. After decades of supporting and encouraging the emerging Pacific Northwest technology industry, Kirby and Kathy decided to use their expertise to help match rapidly-growing organizations with qualified candidates. Since then, VanderHouwen has remained a family-run business, even as we’ve expanded our services to include staffing for Accounting & Finance, and Engineering.

We use a variety of techniques to screen applicants, including in-depth interviewing, in-person meetings, skill and behavioral testing and thorough background and reference analysis.
