Systems Software Engineer
Our client is seeking a Systems Software Engineer I to join their organization. This position is responsible for leading a team of engineers: design execution, quality, and mentoring.
Systems Software Engineer Responsibilities
Supervision and development of a team of engineers specializing in one or more of ACCO’s design build services, such as HVAC, Plumbing, Process Piping, Industrial, Refrigeration, or Controls. Engineering Management may require that a Team Lead’s area of focus change within these specialties as dictated by the needs of the company.
Participate with engineering management in mentoring and training of engineers within team.
Participate with engineering management in workload delegation and management.
Review and quality control of team member’s work.
Complete project planning.
Review of code required energy compliance and LEED documentation performed by team.
Review engineering calculations such as energy analysis, economic analysis, selection and layout of equipment, duct and piping system design performed by team.
Review of applications engineering such as psychometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and controls systems performed by team.
Field engineering: assist with project execution, site surveys, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving, as required.
Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members.
Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines.
Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Systems Software Engineer I Qualifications
BS in Engineering or Construction Management.
Minimum 3 years design experience, with 1 year in a role demonstrating leadership and mentoring capability.
Professional Engineer license highly desirable, but not required.
Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and constructability.
Strong familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards.
Strong understanding of 2D and 3D modeling of HVAC / plumbing systems.

The employee is regularly required to walk and sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (for purposes of filling photocopier/printers).
Hours:
Monday through Friday beginning between 6:00 am and 7:00 am and ending between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm, with one hour for lunch. Eight hours per day is required, and occasional overtime may be necessary due to business needs.
Travel:
0 – 5% of the time to and from the assigned office location to regional branch offices and/or to project/customer site(s).
Compensation: $38.46 to $52.88 per hour. DOE
