Staff Accountant
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and intellectually curious Staff Accountant who enjoys solving problems with a proactive and curious mindset. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to take ownership of the accounts payable function and related financial data, analyze processes and suggest improvements, and grow their GL skillset alongside a high-performing team. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days a week on-site in Newberg, Oregon. Due to the nature of this role and immediate business needs, we are only considering candidates currently residing in Newberg, Oregon and surrounding area.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and GL postings; ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts.
- Oversee AP functions including vendor setup, invoice processing, and adherence to vendor terms.
- Analyze AP metrics and KPIs to identify process improvements and support working capital goals.
- Collaborate with team members to support fixed asset tracking, capital project accounting, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Maintain master data and vendor lists, ensuring system accuracy and data integrity.
Staff Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required.
- 2+ years of accounting experience including accounts payable, journal entries, and month-end support.
- Proficiency with large ERP systems (SAP or Oracle preferred) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect data points, ask questions, and dig into financial trends.
- Self-starter with a curious mindset, problem-solving ability, and adaptability in a growing and evolving environment.
Salary: $60k-$80k (DOE)
