Senior PHP Software Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior PHP Software Engineer with hands-on Laravel expertise to support the development of scalable, high-performance back-end systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative yet autonomous environment, takes pride in clean and maintainable code, and enjoys solving complex problems with modern web technologies.

This role is based in Vancouver, Washington, and requires 100% onsite work during the first 90 days, followed by a hybrid schedule of three days in the office per week.

Senior PHP Software Engineer Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain back-end web applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Design and build RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs to support web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions that meet business requirements.
• Implement and optimize relational database structures using PostgreSQL or similar technologies.
• Apply object-oriented design principles and best practices such as dependency injection and modular architecture.
• Write and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Contribute to continuous integration and deployment workflows.
• Ensure code quality, observability, and performance monitoring in production environments.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to drive engineering excellence.

Senior PHP Software Engineer Qualifications:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience developing with PHP, including modern frameworks like Laravel.
• Solid understanding of SQL and experience designing and optimizing relational databases.
• Proven experience building APIs (REST or GraphQL) and integrating with external services.
• Familiarity with ORM frameworks such as Eloquent or equivalents.
• Strong understanding of software testing strategies and practices.
• Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred.

Salary: $100K-$150K/year. (DOE)
