Senior Back-End Technical Lead
Our client is seeking a Senior Back-End Technical Lead to join a high-visibility, data-intensive digital initiative in its final phase of delivery. This individual will play a critical role in stabilizing, enhancing, and launching a large-scale enterprise web experience, working closely with internal engineering and product teams in a fast-paced environment.

This role is fully remote.

Senior Back-End Technical Lead Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on back-end development for a high-traffic, data-driven web platform with tight delivery timelines.
• Architect, build, and optimize APIs, data integrations, and application services using Python and Django.
• Drive implementation and enhancements across a cloud-native environment leveraging Google Cloud Platform.
• Support and extend CMS functionality using Wagtail, including content modeling, editorial workflows, and publishing tools.
• Deliver key site improvements across navigation, site structure, and content discovery experiences.
• Implement and refine dynamic data visualizations and interactive content components.
• Partner closely with front-end engineers, designers, and product stakeholders to support UX and performance enhancements.
• Contribute to launch readiness, production stabilization, troubleshooting, and post-launch optimization.
• Ensure code quality, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability across all back-end systems.

Senior Back-End Technical Lead Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and leading back-end systems using Python and Django in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience architecting and deploying solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven experience working with Wagtail CMS, including custom development and editorial tooling.
• Background supporting large-scale, content-rich, and data-heavy enterprise web platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, high-pressure delivery environments.
• Strong understanding of API design, cloud infrastructure, and scalable application architecture.
• Experience collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering, UX, and product teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly ramp up on complex systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and drive technical decisions.

Compensation: $65-$100/hr. (DOE)
