Sales Manager
Our client is seeking a Sales Manager with proven success in the perishable goods manufacturing industry and expertise in co-manufacturing to join their dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in driving customer-centric product development initiatives and a deep understanding of the food manufacturing process, particularly in co-manufacturing settings.
This role is mostly remote with travel to McMinnville, Oregon, required 3 days per month. Candidates must be located in Mountain or Pacific Time Zones.
Sales Manager Responsibilities
Business Development & New Opportunities:
- Research and identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, and potential partnerships, specifically in the perishable goods manufacturing industry.
- Develop and diversify the existing customer base to ensure long-term revenue growth and stability for the organization.
- Understand customer needs and respond with strategic solutions that align with product development timelines.
- Convert new business leads into sales by developing quotes, proposals, and closing deals.
- Attend relevant industry seminars, conferences, and events to stay ahead of trends and expand professional networks.
Project Management:
- Lead the entire product development process from research and development to production, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research and development, production, finance, warehousing, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the key liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring that projects meet quality, cost, and timeline expectations.
Key Account Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, acting as a trusted partner and expert in perishable goods and snack category development.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer accounts, driving growth through product innovation and industry insights.
- Ensure customer queries are answered promptly, and new products are effectively introduced to the market.
Sales Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in sales and marketing, specifically within the food industry, with a focus on perishable goods and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG).
- Strong track record of business development success, particularly within the perishable goods space.
- Experience with co-manufacturing, understanding the nuances of product development and production timelines.
- Demonstrated project management skills, leading initiatives from concept through to production.
- Ability to work independently, with strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to navigate uncertainty.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in relevant information technology tools and platforms.
Salary: $100k-$150k + Performance Based Bonus (DOE)
