Process / Chemical Engineer
This position offers a challenging opportunity for a seasoned engineer to contribute to cutting-edge projects in LNG and cryogenics, leveraging expertise in process engineering and technical leadership within a dynamic global company environment.

This position is onsite in Lusby, MD.

Process / Chemical Engineer Responsibilities
Participate in the development of overall plant process schemes for new projects.
Provide technical assistance for ongoing projects and operational assets.
Contribute to scouting and qualification of new technologies.

In addition to these primary roles, due to the cross-functional nature of LNG & Cryogenics process activities, responsibilities will also include:
Involvement in inter-branch studies (Technical Services, Maintenance, Operations) for cryogenic process support.
Performing, leading, or validating process studies from prospect studies.
Supporting projects in FEED or EPC phases.
Assisting Operations with asset support across various branches.
Collecting and formalizing technical feedback from GTS-operated assets and others, developing internal know-how, and interfacing with GTS entities on LNG and other cryogenics applications.

A non-exhaustive list of activities includes:
Clarifying client’s technical issues and defining Basis of Design / Scope of Work.
Modeling LNG plants and cryogenic processes using commercial or in-house software.
Optimizing processes considering energy efficiency, production maximization, GHG reduction, and equipment technology limitations.
Developing process flowsheets (e.g., PFDs) and equipment lists.
Preliminary sizing of equipment and piping.
Reviewing and validating process studies documents such as specifications, reports, and technical offers.
Reviewing and validating process documentation issued by Contractors and leading technical reviews (Project Reviews, PFD/P&ID reviews, HAZID/ENVID/HAZOP 3D model reviews, Technology Qualifications).
Leading complex studies conducted within the Company or outsourced.

Process / Chemical Engineer Qualifications
Chemical engineering or petroleum engineering degree.
Broad understanding of Oil & Gas, refining, and petrochemical processes.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a process engineer in an Engineering company and/or Oil & Gas Company, with significant experience in cryogenic units.
Proficiency in modeling tools such as PROII, Hysys, Unisim. Familiarity with other specific modeling tools like HTRI and CFD tools is advantageous.
Experience with process design of equipment including vessels, columns, heat exchangers, compressors, and pumps.
Conceptual understanding of chemical engineering principles including heat transfer, vapor-liquid equilibria, mass transfer, and thermodynamics, and their application to process design.
Familiarity with major regulations and industry codes and standards affecting design, quality, or processes.
Experience in originating and checking deliverables/tasks.
Strong knowledge of technical theory, engineering principles, and good engineering practices.
Ability to manage complex studies conducted internally or by engineering contractors.
Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications
ABET Certification is a nice-to-have.

Compensation: $65-$67/hr. (DOE)
