Principal Electrical Engineer
Our client is seeking an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer, at its West Union, SC facility to participate in the design of new products in their line of solid-state electricity meters. This role is hybrid/remote.

The candidate will be responsible for all phases of embedded hardware design including technical analysis of product requirements, recommendation of design alternatives, functional specifications, schematic design, PCB layout, hardware debug, hardware verification testing and release to manufacturing. 

The ideal candidate will have experience in the design of high-volume, low-cost circuits with the highest standards for quality and reliability. 

Major Responsibilities/Duties: 
Trouble shooting and failure analysis of complex electronic circuitry.
Design of switching power supplies for AC to DC conversion. 
Mentoring junior hardware engineers.
Design analog signal processing and digital interface circuitry with an emphasis on high accuracy and reliability in a harsh operating environment.
Op amp circuit design, filter design, communications, digital sampling theory, and digital circuit design utilizing microcontrollers and digital signal processors.
Line frequency magnetic design experience and EMI/RFI conformance engineering is a plus.
The ideal candidate will possess the skills to use software tools for simulation throughout the development process.

Requirements for the Position: 
Minimum 5 years product development experience is preferred.
Must have a fundamental understanding of digital and analog circuit design and theories.
Familiarity with advanced modeling, simulation and analysis tools.
Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
Bachelors or master’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
Travel: 10%
