Payroll Specialist
Our local nonprofit client seeks a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to grow with their team! This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days a week onsite in Portland, Oregon.
 
Payroll Specialist Responsibilities

  • Support semi-monthly payroll processing activities.
  • Review timesheets for accuracy.
  • Respond to employees and external vendors regarding payroll inquiries and issues. 
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records.
  • Assist with open enrollment processes, new hire setup, benefit reconciliations, payments, and reports.
  • Ad-hoc administrative tasks to support HR functions.

Payroll Specialist Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates with Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
  • At least 2 years of payroll experience.
  • Knowledge of current labor laws and related regulations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and payroll software; Kronos and/or UKG experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task.

Salary: $23-$30/hr. (DOE)
