Network Engineer
The IS Network and Voice Engineer III will have a passion for managing corporate network and voice solutions along with a desire to design and develop effective solutions which support business strategies.  This role is essential toward maturing  network and voice model.  The successful candidate will spend substantial time partnering with business leaders, architecting, and implementing IS policies and systems (plan, design, install, and maintain).  

This is a hybrid position. and must live in For this role the candidate must live in OR, WA, ID, NV, ID or UT.

Network Engineer Responsibilities:
 Network and Voice Design and Development
Leads the design and management of a highly reliable communications network, including but not limited to local area networks, wide area networks, data center fabrics, load balancers, wireless networks, mobile device/remote access networks, and core and ancillary voice services and applications.
Provide network and voice technology expertise to the company, and participate in and consult on projects.
Advise other IS teams on best practices for network and voice design.
May serve as a resource to developing engineers.
 
Network and Voice Administration and Operations:
Execute tasks related to tickets and service requests for advanced to complex activities, and provide escalation support for network tickets.
Oversee the maintenance of network systems, including local area networks, wide area networks, data center fabrics, load balancers, wireless networks, mobile device/remote access networks, vendor provided services, core voice services and configuration, and voice-integrated applications and systems.
Analyze business needs; partner with leaders across the organization in order to research and recommend solutions which balance business need and risk mitigation.
Define, build, and review reports on network and voice system performance and event anomalies; ensure internal adjustments are made and substantial gaps documented and elevated to management.
Develop and maintain appropriate technology documentation, including current design and operation.
 
Standards and Policy Administration:
Author and serve as subject matter expert to define requirements and standards for network and voice technology selection and deployment.
Monitor and continually review existing systems to ensure they are designed to comply with established standards and to empower business operations.
Develop and maintain network and voice policies.
Assist with the development and management of security policies and systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection, and intrusion prevention devices.
Lead the planning for and support of disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
 
Vendor Coordination and Relations:
Conduct product and vendor research, and present recommendations to team and/or management.
Establish and manage relations with vendors and related equipment suppliers, including installation and repair of services.
Maintain service contracts and licensing; effectively negotiate with outside parties; escalate issues as needed.
Oversee the development of, monitor, and maintain network and voice connectivity with outside entities.

Network Engineer Qualifications: 
Technical
Expert in most or all of the following areas:
Network technology best practices.
Network integrated voice systems.
Network transport protocols and industry standards.
Major network gear, such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, and Palo Alto firewalls.
Major telephony applications, such as call centers and voicemail.
Major telephony systems, such as ShoreTel.
Troubleshooting of system performance issues and root cause.
Monitoring systems and best practices.
Principles of system design and best practices.
Author and maintain system documentation.
Working knowledge of security systems such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Intrusion. Detection Systems (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).
Knowledge of ITIL and ITSM governance concepts.
 
Communication:
Strong, clear communication skills, including listening, verbal, written, customer service, meeting facilitation, and presentations.

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum 6 years delivering network and/or voice solutions and related services required.  Experience should include most or all of the following:
LAN and WAN technologies, firewalls, load balancers and proxies (extensive experience).
Designing, configuration, and ongoing support of a network DMZ.
QoS policy and network traffic prioritization and optimization.
Developing secure collaboration solutions for external partners or affiliates.
Network development, including a balance of performance, management, and cost objectives.
Voice system technologies, such as PBX, SIP, Voice over IP, voicemail, and reporting.
Dial plans and call routing.
Business critical call centers.
ITIL concepts and practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
CCIE certification preferred.
ShoreTel or similar certification preferred.
Additional experience in related technology support and/or operational positions preferred.

Salary: $51-$62.50/hr. (DOE)
