Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Transcription Specialist who excels in accuracy, consistency, and high-volume workflow support. This role is onsite in Boston, Massachusetts.

Medical Transcription Specialist Responsibilities

• Review, edit, and finalize pathology reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistent style across all documentation.
• Accession surgical and consult specimens while verifying patient identifiers, specimen details, and clinical information.
• Coordinate frozen section procedures, manage phone triage, and assist with provider follow-ups to resolve documentation discrepancies.
• Maintain and update logs, records, slides/blocks, and digital entries in LIS, COPATH, and partner portals.
• Monitor voicemails/faxes, process external consult reports, and package materials for second opinions.

Medical Transcription Specialist Qualifications

• High school diploma with related postsecondary coursework; medical transcription training preferred.
• 1–2 years of medical transcription experience, ideally in pathology or a clinical setting.
• Strong command of English grammar, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to pathology.
• Proficiency with computers, speech-recognition editing, and typing 40–50 WPM under tight deadlines.
• Commitment to HIPAA compliance, accuracy, and consistent documentation standards.

Compensation: $25-$30/hr. (DOE)
