The IT Manager has catch-all responsibility for all business technology systems from personal desktops, laptops, and workstations to servers. This also includes supporting desktop applications, database and accounting systems, and cloud-based services. The manager provides both hands on support, terminating network jacks and building new computers, to strategic planning, and defining and implementing policies.
This is a remote position for candidates in the Beaverton/Portland area.
IT Manager Responsibilities
Servers: Maintain hardware, software, warranties, leases, and daily data backups. Have a tested and documented disaster recovery procedure for each. New deployments and replacement of unsupported hardware.
Workstations: Workstation purchases, deployment and replacement. Monthly images of each. Repair broken components when needed. Run security updates & service packs.
Printers: Manage print queues. Repair dysfunctional hardware and manage maintenance agreements. Keep replacement toner on hand, replace toner and ink when needed.
Telephone: Manage call routes, deploy new telephones and extensions. Ensure all features of the PBX are functioning properly. Repair/replace broken or unsupported hardware.
Core Network: Network Switches, Firewall, Domain controller, VPN, WINS, DNS & DHCP.
Policies: Define & uphold policies as defined in the employee handbook, or otherwise documented and published corporate policies.
Purchasing: Software, hardware, service contracts, contracted labor.
Software: Maintain license inventory, media cabinet, license agreements. Purchase & install new software.
User Support: Immediate response to end-user issues, request or questions.
Account Management: Maintain user domain accounts, home data directories, e-mail accounts, and telephone extensions.
Data housing: Onsite & Offsite backups of all AP mission critical data. Documenting completion & location of each.
Inventory: Maintain an inventory of all AP assets that are owned by the IT Department.
Security: Define security policies, patch known vulnerable systems. Perform regular workstation scans for Trojans. Perform security and password audits against the AP networks. Monitor logs on perimeter systems for attackers. Manage keycard access system for physical access to the AP office.
IT Manager Qualifications
5 or more years of IT experience, including at least 1 year experience as an IT manager, preferably at a small to mid-size company.
Specific experience with the following technologies:
Windows server and networking technologies, include Azure cloud services;
VMWare vSphere virtual machine technology and administration;
SAN, NAS, and RAID storage technology;
SQL Database administration;
Desktop application support;
ERP application support.
Familiarity supporting a multi-site distributed infrastructure with remote offices and employees.
Excellent communication, customer service, and planning skills. Including the ability to negotiate and integrate business objectives, end-user requests, and technological feasibility in both large and small projects.
Must demonstrate a commitment to maintain our record of excellent reliability, high customer service, and forward looking provisioning and planning.
Salary: $125-$130K (DOE)
