IS Network and Voice Engineer II
The IS Network and Voice Engineer II will have a passion for implementing and maintaining corporate network and voice solutions along with a capability to influence and recommend selection of effective solutions which support business strategies.  This role is essential toward maturing network and voice model.  The successful candidate will spend substantial time evaluating, architecting, and implementing IS policies and systems (plan, design, install, and maintain).

This is a remote position. Required to be in OR, WA, ID, UT, NV, AZ, TX, MT or WI.

IS Network and Voice Engineer II Responsibilities:
Network and Voice Design and Development
Actively participate in the design and maintenance of a highly reliable communications network, including but not limited to local area networks, wide area networks, data center fabrics, load balancers, wireless networks, mobile device/remote access networks, and core and ancillary voice services and applications.
Provide network technology and voice advanced knowledge to the company and participate in and consult on projects.
Advise other IS teams on best practices for network design.
 
Network and Voice Administration and Operations
Execute tasks related to tickets and service requests for basic to advanced activities.
Actively maintain network systems, including local area networks, wide area networks, data center fabrics, load balancers, wireless networks, mobile device/remote access networks, vendor provided services, core voice services and configuration, and voice-integrated applications and systems.
Analyze business needs; research and recommend solutions which include potential risks and mitigation.
Help define, as well as build, run, and review, reports on network and voice system performance and event anomalies; make minor and advanced internal adjustments and identify substantial gaps based on findings.
Develop and maintain appropriate technology documentation, including current design and operation.
 
Standards and Policy Administration
Propose requirements and standards for network and voice technology selection and deployment.
Participate in the ongoing review existing systems to ensure they are designed to comply with established standards and to empower business operations.
Participate in developing and maintaining network and voice policies.
Assist with the development and management of security policies and systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection, and intrusion prevention devices.
Participate in planning for and supporting disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
 
Vendor Coordination and Relations
Conduct product and vendor research, and present recommendations to senior engineer and/or management.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and related equipment suppliers, including installation and repair of services.
Maintain service contracts and licensing; monitor adherence to SLAs with outside parties; escalate issues as needed.
Develop, monitor, and maintain network and voice connectivity with outside entities.

IS Network and Voice Engineer II Qualifications:
Technical
Advanced knowledge and abilities in some or all of the following areas:
Network technology best practices.
Network integrated voice systems.
Network transport protocols and industry standards.
Major network gear, such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, and Palo Alto firewalls.
Major telephony applications, such as call centers and voicemail.
Major telephony systems, such as ShoreTel.
Troubleshooting of system performance issues and root cause.
Monitoring systems and best practices.
Principles of system design and best practices.
Author and maintain system documentation.
Working knowledge of security systems such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).
Awareness or knowledge of ITIL and ITSM governance concepts.
Communication

Education and/or Experience
Required
Minimum 4 years delivering network and/or voice solutions and related services.  Experience should include some or all of the following:
LAN and WAN technologies, firewalls, load balancers and proxies.
Designing, configuration, and ongoing support of a network DMZ.
QoS policy and network traffic prioritization and optimization.
Developing secure collaboration solutions for external partners or affiliates.
Network development, including a balance of performance, management, and cost objectives.
Voice system technologies, such as PBX, SIP, Voice over IP, voicemail, and reporting.
Dial plans and call routing.
Business critical call centers.
ITIL concepts and practices.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
CCNP or similar certification.
ShoreTel or similar certification.
Additional experience in related technology support and/or operational positions.

 Salary: $87,135k-$95,850k/yr. (DOE)
