Director of Tax
Our Portland-based client, who has a longstanding reputation in the Pacific Northwest, is looking for an experienced Director of Tax to join their team full-time.This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in advising leadership and directly supporting the growth of the organization through development and implementation of strategic tax strategies and policies. This role is anticipating a hybrid schedule and requires qualified candidates to commute occasionally to offices in Portland, Oregon.

Qualifications of the Director of Tax

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or Business; active CPA required.
  • 10 years of progressive accounting and tax experience within a large organization.
  • Big 4 experience including exposure to C corporations and private companies; public company experience a plus.
  • Tech-savvy with ERP systems proficiency and intermediate to advanced Excel skills. 
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization. 
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Director of Tax Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the Tax Manager and develop/manage the organization's tax functions.
  • Serve as point person for all tax-related activities.
  • Maintain relationships with advisors, tax and law firms, and valuation service providers.
  • Keep leadership team informed of potential risks, investments, and process improvements.
  • Review contracts and support processing of lease transactions.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of tax records/filings.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Salary: $155k–$195k + Bonus (DOE)
