Director of Government Business Development
In this role you will be responsible for building strong business relationships with key stakeholders in the Defense Segment. Ensure the organization’s growth through various avenues like analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities, formulating strategies, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a collaborative and product work environment. Coordinating with project managers to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and ensure effective communication. 
This role is remote with 25%-50% travel to D.C., as well as Kent, WA and Fort Lauderdale, FL, for conferences, and tradeshows.
Primary (Essential) Duties
Establish and execute a strategic plan for business growth in the defense and government sectors. 
Work closely with business development teams to identify and pursue new defense contracts, projects, and partnerships.
Oversee the execution of defense projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and meet the required quality standards.
Partner with various stakeholders, including government agencies, military personnel, suppliers, and key decision makers in the industry.
Lead a team of professionals working within the Defense Segment to quality service delivery, exceptional customer experience and continuous improvement.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices and provide recommendations for incorporating new developments into the business model.
Responsible for managing the financial aspects of the Defense Segment.
Partner with finance, legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to follow federal level guidelines and procedures.
Advanced knowledge of industry trends in the Defense Segment.
Strong financial accountability and budgeting skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues related to defense and government sectors.
Strong business acumen and ability to understand and navigate complex matters in relation to the job.
Proven leadership skills, including employee engagement, evaluating performance, providing direction, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. 
Advanced organization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to utilize MS office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience/Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
Master’s degree in business or related field preferred.
15+ years relevant industry experience working with or for US Government (Armed Forces department).
Experience and proven track record in leadership and program management.
Experience in the contracting space (solicitation, contract writing, proposal writing, contract execution, contract compliance review, etc.).
Occasional overnight travel to attend conferences and seminars and meet with stakeholders and team members.

Salary Range: $175,000 to $200,000 annually, based on skills and experience.
