Software Engineering Manager

The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a cross-discipline team of engineers to deliver of high-quality software. Software Engineering Managers focus on removing obstacles for their direct reports, debugging process issues on their teams, and focusing on the growth of our engineers. The Software Engineering Manager reports to the Head of Engineering

Software Engineering Manager Responsibilities
Act in the capacity of a Hiring Manager for open roles on their team.
Conduct regular 1:1s with direct reports with a focus on removing obstacles, providing coaching on career development, and giving both positive and constructive feedback
Find ways to recognize good work in both public and private settings.
Champion the velocity and wellbeing of the team, advocating for iterative improvement of team process.
Coordinate with team members in Engineering Leadership to help develop the organization’s holistic approach to software development and engineer growth.
Work with members of the Product, Design, and Delivery organizations to reduce friction and improve outcomes.

Software Engineering Manager Skills and Qualifications
3+ years managing software engineers in Agile teams.
5+ years’ experience shipping and supporting high-scale, high-performance web applications in a cloud environment.
Experience with container-driven development environments.
Expertise in HTTP, web application architecture, scalability, performance optimization, reliability, deployment, monitoring, security.
Experience working in our core family of technologies Javascript (React), Typescript, Kotlin, Java, Springboot, Docker, Azure.

An excellent communicator, able to address gaps and opportunities with the greater team constructively.
Self-motivates, believes in accountability, focuses on results, makes plans, and follows through.
Believes in humility, empathy, shares best practices, desires to keep learning, measures performance and adapts to improve results.
Practices servant-leadership and is primarily invested in furthering the career growth and efficacy of their direct reports.

Salary: $162,360k-$191,880k. (DOE)
