Controller
Our client is seeking a strategic, hands-on Controller who brings both technical accounting expertise and confident leadership to a fast-moving, multi-site manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building strong controls, partnering with auditors and business leaders, and turning complex financial data into clear, reliable insight. The right candidate blends precision, sound judgment, and the ability to guide teams through high-accountability reporting and compliance.

This role is onsite in Waukegan, Illinois.

Controller Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial reporting.
• Oversee revenue recognition, contract reviews, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and accounting standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls across business units.
• Partner directly with external auditors and support audits, technical accounting reviews, and documentation.
• Manage and mentor finance teams, ensuring accurate reconciliations, reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations.

Controller Qualifications

• CPA required with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 3 years in audit; Big 4 experience strongly preferred, with manufacturing exposure highly valued.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, revenue recognition, and technical accounting under U.S. GAAP.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing accounting and finance teams.
• Experience building and maintaining internal controls and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
