Civil/Structural Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Civil/Structural Engineer who will apply technical expertise, analytical reasoning, and decision-making skills to perform civil and structural analysis and design of Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures. This role demands proficiency in structural dynamics, earthquake engineering, and finite element analysis methods, making it an ideal opportunity for candidates with a strong background in these areas.
This role is fully remote.
Civil/Structural Engineer Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced structural engineering tools and adhere to appropriate standards to analyze, design, and review both Nuclear Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related structures.
- Perform both linear and nonlinear structural analyses across various material types including concrete and steel.
- Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines and structural consultants to ensure coordinated design activities and resolution of technical challenges.
- Develop comprehensive requirements documents, design specifications, design reports, and studies.
- Maintain routine interaction with contractors and regulatory bodies, demonstrating strong written and oral communication skills.
- Engage in multi-disciplinary teams, acquiring a general knowledge of related fields to enhance team function and project outcomes.
- Execute additional duties as necessary to support the engineering team and project goals.
Civil/Structural Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution required; advanced degree preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in structural analysis engineering in nuclear and non-nuclear environments.
- Proficient in using structural design software such as ANSYS, SAP2000, and preferred knowledge of SASSI.
- Experienced with concrete, steel, and foundation structural analysis and design.
- Familiarity with relevant codes including ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ACI 349 & 318, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC N690, Steel Construction Manual, and Seismic Design Manual.
- Basic programming skills in Python and Matlab are advantageous but not required.
- Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Salary: $93K-$146K/year. (DOE)
