Civil Engineer
Due to our clients’ growth they are looking to expand our civil engineering service capacity. If you are

This position will be responsible for:
Working with internal principals to plan general scopes of service, manhours and budget, and resource allocation for existing and future projects.
Collaborating with project managers to define deliverables and submission dates.
Preparing for and attending weekly/biweekly project progress meetings.
Assisting in determination of feasible and effective resource allocation for projects throughout the company.
Executing engineering, design, and drafting (as required) to meet the project deliverables.
Overseeing and managing Junior PE’s, EITS, designers, and draftsmen to meet the project
deliverables.
Mentoring and evaluating Junior PEs and EITs
Projects for this position will include the development and modernization of heavy industrial
facilities across the US. Most of the work will be with wood products manufactures (sawmills),
cold storage facilities, or other manufacturing and distribution clients. Tasks for this position will generally focus on the site evaluation and planning, development of facility road and rail
access, design of utility connections and coordination with service providers, site grading, stormwater and drainage design, development of erosion and sediment control measures, and coordination and acquisition of permits from federal, state, county, and local agencies.
Position Requirements and Responsibilities:
Management of preparation and direct preparation of construction documents for civil
(site development) engineering activities. Including; site , grading; stormwater, and utility plans, profiles, details, and note sheets.
Extensive experience working in all aspects of AutoCAD Civil 3D. Experience with REVIT, MEP design, and other AutoDesk applications a plus.
Experience in calculations for potable and fire water, sewage transfer and disposal, and natural gas and propane services.
Extensive experience in the use of stormwater and stormdrain calculation software
(HydroCAD, Hydraflow, etc.) and a working knowledge of the basis of these programs (TR- 55 and TR-20)
Experience in floodplain calculations using HEC-RAS and a working knowledge of the basis of this program.
Preparation of specifications, scopes of work, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.
Broad experience in environmental permitting and coordination for wetlands, waterways,
floodplains, endangered species, stormwater quantity and quality, and erosion and sediment control.
Broad experience in jurisdictional permitting for zoning and subdivision and land
development.
Manage and mentor Junior PEs, EITs, designers, and drafters to successfully meet project requirements.
Structural design knowledge preferred, as well as a capacity and willingness to supplement civil engineering design with structural engineering.
Advanced knowledge of soils and geotechnical engineering for general suitability for construction, bearing capacity, infiltration, excavation, and fill.
Experience in construction oversight and construction management.
Advanced knowledge of means, methods, and equipment for topographic survey and construction stake-out.
Effective communication with the design team to plan, develop drawings, prepare basic design models, and resolve problems.
Effective communication with project managers and clients to stay on-task, understand and implement changes in scope, and meet deadlines.
Position will require some travel to job sites once every two to three months.
Travel should be equal to or less than 5 business days.
Education and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in industry-related civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
United States based Professional Civil Engineer with licensing in a US state that permits licensing by reciprocity.

Salary: $75,000-$100,000/ yr. (DOE)
