Capital Accounting Manager
Are you a detail-oriented leader who thrives on mentoring teams and enhancing financial processes? Due to the nature of this role and immediate business needs, we are only considering candidates currently residing in Portland, Oregon and surrounding area.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days a week onsite in Portland, Oregon.

Capital Accounting Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of three in Capital and Project Accounting.
  • Review and approve key journal entries and reconciliations (e.g., CWIP, depreciation, lease accounting).
  • Oversee capital accounting functions, including expenditure tracking and ledger reconciliation.
  • Maintain fixed asset processes from capitalization through retirement.
  • Support audits, SOX controls, and cross-functional initiatives.

Capital Accounting Manager Qualifications

  • 8+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years in Fixed Asset Accounting and team supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop staff and drive process improvements.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven prioritization and deadline management.
  • High ethical standards and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP and Powerplan a plus.
  • Utilities or related industry experience preferred.
