Buyer
Our client is seeking a Buyer to provide specialized support for physical retail assortments during a high-visibility global sporting event taking place in North America in 2026. This role will focus on pre-, during-, and post-event assortment execution for new and existing stores, ensuring strong franchise health, seamless cross-functional execution, and optimized in-store performance throughout the tournament lifecycle.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.
Buyer Responsibilities
- Support franchise health across direct retail through effective assorting, buying, and in-season trading decisions.
- Partner cross-functionally with merchandising, planning, allocation, and distribution teams to deliver end-in-mind execution.
- Execute required systems workflows, tools, and deliverables in alignment with seasonal and weekly business rhythms.
- Own and maintain assortment tools, whiteboards, templates, and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and visibility.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for distribution and digital supply partners as needed.
- Manage and maintain product samples to support line reviews, storytelling, and execution.
- Partner closely with line planners and allocation teams to support bottoms-up planning and assortment accuracy.
- Support assortment creation for select areas of business, surfacing gaps and opportunities tied to product priorities, allocations, and marketing plans.
- Pull and analyze weekly business reports to identify actionable insights and inform weekly and bi-weekly business reviews.
- Monitor competitive and consumer trends to proactively inform assortment and trading strategies.
- Support weekly and bi-weekly business alignment forums with reporting, insights, and optimization actions.
- Lead through influence by driving collaboration, accountability, and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Support post-event business transitions to ensure continuity and sustained performance following the tournament.
Buyer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Proven retail store buying experience with direct ownership of physical assortment execution.
- Deep passion for and knowledge of soccer/football and related consumer behavior.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse, cross-functional teams and navigate multiple stakeholder personalities with strong partnership skills.
- Strong retail financial acumen with experience in buying, trading, and performance optimization.
- Ability to translate consumer, marketplace, and performance insights into actionable assortment strategies.
- Experience supporting end-to-end consumer journeys within physical retail environments.
- Strong product and merchandising intuition with multi-season planning experience.
- High level of organization, adaptability, and resourcefulness in ambiguous or high-volume work environments.
- Experience working within large-scale, time-sensitive retail initiatives or event-driven business cycles preferred.
Compensation: Up to $35.92/hr. (DOE)
