Behavioral Health Manager
Our client is seeking a licensed Behavioral Health Manager to lead a multidisciplinary behavioral health team within a primary care environment. This role blends strategic oversight with direct clinical care, supporting integrated behavioral health services for a diverse Medicare and Medicaid population. The ideal candidate brings supervisory experience in an FQHC or similar community-based setting, expertise in brief intervention models, and a strong commitment to operational excellence and patient-centered care.
This role is fully onsite in Tigard, Oregon with travel between client locations.
Behavioral Health Manager Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and mentorship to behavioral health clinicians and community health navigators to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Oversee staffing, performance management, hiring and onboarding processes, and ongoing staff development in partnership with internal partners.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of integrated behavioral health programs, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows, productivity targets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with primary care leadership to support coverage planning, template management, and coordinated patient care.
- Monitor team engagement and well-being, promoting strategies that improve retention, resilience, and overall team functioning.
- Guide program initiatives, including care transitions, social drivers of health efforts, and integrated care enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with documentation, billing practices, and regulatory requirements across service lines.
- Contribute to budgeting, operational planning, and the development of sustainable behavioral health service models.
- Support training and internship programs in coordination with educational partners and internal training teams.
- Maintain a small clinical caseload, utilizing brief, evidence-based interventions consistent with the primary care behavioral health model.
- Provide consultation, care coordination, and guidance to primary care providers and other clinical team members.
- Use electronic health record tools to track outcomes, support follow-up, and monitor patient engagement.
Behavioral Health Manager Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Oregon licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PsyD, or Licensed Psychologist) is required.
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience in a primary care or integrated care setting is required.
- Demonstrated supervisory, lead, or management experience in behavioral health—preferably within an FQHC or community health environment—is required.
- Experience working with Medicare and Medicaid populations is required.
- Proficiency with brief, evidence-based therapeutic approaches and the Primary Care Behavioral Health model is required.
- Experience serving diverse patient populations across the lifespan is required.
- Familiarity with EHR systems, clinical documentation workflows, and billing protocols is preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills are required.
- Ability to balance clinical and administrative priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment is required.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are preferred.
Salary: 100K-130K/year. (DOE)
