The System Architect is responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision for an Agile Release Train (ART) to ensure the system or solution under development is fit for its intended purpose, and in addition will be built and run in line with the long term goals of the organization. This is a remote position as long as candidate can work PST hours.
The System Architect will work with product management and engineers to understand, plan, and collaboratively design solutions within an individual value stream, as well as build the architectural runway that will enable teams within the value stream to continuously and reliably deliver customer value.
Systems Architect Qualifications
BS degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience in an enterprise organization.
10+ years of combined experience in two technical disciplines (i.e. software development and infrastructure, or software development and architecture), or ability to demonstrate it didn’t take you that long to be at the top of your game.
2+ years of experience architecting REST APIs, Microservices, and Integrations.
2+ years of experience architecting Cloud Services.
3+ years of experience architecture solutions that utilize Frontend technologies such as Angular, Reach, Node.js (preferred Angular).
3+ years of experience architecting large solutions that deliver value for various stakeholders from multiple domains (i.e. Portals, e-commerce or banking applications, omni-channel digital solutions such as mobile and web).
Ability to Apply Systems Thinking to understand and solve problems.
Ability to describe, communicate with, and collaborate with various stakeholders, from business and technology, around different aspects of a solution’s near-term and long term value and risk, as well as balance and negotiate trade-offs.
Demonstrated leadership in delivering architectures that support loosely-coupled, resilient cloud-based solutions.
Experience in an agile, collaborative environment that requires an architect to lead when necessary as well as act as a servant leader to support the leadership development of others.
Understanding and experience with emergent architecture and software design practices that support the building and delivery of omni-channel experiences.
Knowledge and understanding of the unique concerns that apply to solutions that run in financial services organizations.
Financial Services domain knowledge (Investment Banking, Retail Banking or Insurance).
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and/or SAFe certifications.
