Senior Battery Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior Battery Engineer to join our dynamic team in Beaverton, OR. As a Senior Battery Engineer for our client’s Smart Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for architecting and developing innovative, adaptive products. In this role, you will work closely with various functional teams, including Product Innovation, Engineering, and Manufacturing. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate globally with engineering development partners and contract manufacturing teams.
Senior Battery Engineer Qualifications:
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related technical field.
Minimum 5 years of work experience in electrical/electronic design engineering.
2+ years of electrical engineering experience in the consumer electronics or medical industry is highly preferred.
Expertise in specifications, performance and testing of Lithium Polymer rechargeable batteries.
Working knowledge of battery types, chemistry, and manufacturing processes of Lithium Polymer batteries.
Experience in design, methodologies and system considerations of battery protection circuits.
Experience in standards and compliance of batteries.
Works with Engineers, Designers, Innovators, and Product Management to architect and realize intent, manufacturability, and design of electro-mechanical systems.
Uses concept sketches, engineering design/ideas, and other communication methods to assure clear understanding of technological capabilities and limitations.
Creates specifications and quotation documentation in order to lead external professional services firms (domestic and international), factories, and component vendors to create prototypes, proof-of-concepts, commercialization process, and maintenance of consumer electronic products.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred knowledge in low-power electrical system design.
Preferred knowledge and design experience in the following areas: Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wireless power (Qi/Air Fuel), Sensors and MEMs devices, Embedded micro-controller experience (16/32-bit), USB and other standard communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, etc).
Experience in high-volume new-product-introduction (NPI).
High-level understanding of adjacent technical disciplines (mechanical and firmware engineering) required.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Available for late-afternoon/evening conference calls.
