Our client is seeking a Node.JS Engineer to join their team in New York, NY. As a Software Engineer, you will work with a talented team of engineers to improve our client’s enterprise business software and analytics frameworks. You'll help to build secure, scalable, and fast tools to make processing data, generating analytics, and reporting within our teams seamless and easy.
The team spends their time building software tools for business groups within the company, helping teams solve tricky data issues, gathering feedback and requirements for new systems development, writing tests, enhancing data quality monitoring, and managing our production systems.
Work on features in services, UI, and CLI applications to support all business functions.
Contribute to the architecture and design of software components, tools, and tests based on product requirements.
Work on and document design discussions and proof of concept projects.
Participate in code reviews.
Partner with other team members to code and test features.
Provide mentorship junior team members.
Ensure high availability and reliability of business applications.
Help debug and fix production issues.
Enhance the developer experience for the team by working on tools, documentation, and infrastructure to facilitate efficient software development practices.
Learn about the core company business and how the technology group provides value and opportunity for growth.
BS in Computer Science or degree in related engineering field.
3-5 years working on web applications or related software development experience.
Working knowledge of distributed systems and modern data processing architectures.
Working knowledge of test-driven development techniques and software testing concepts.
Applicable knowledge of Git and current source control management best practices.
Comfortable working with a command-line environment (Windows/Unix/Linux).
A working knowledge of SQL and data modeling (NoSQL experience a plus).
Familiarity with DevOps and Cloud Computing concepts.
Experience working in a cross-functional team environment (Product/BA/QA/Engineering) to help define requirements, provide status updates, and launch product releases.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical team members.
