The Security Engineering Manager will lead the Security Engineering team to include managing cyber security services used to protect networks, systems, applications, and data. This role includes operating the cyber security services and supporting strategic initiatives to enhance maturity. The Security Engineering manager will also be responsible for establishing strategy, facilitating training, and providing mentorship for the engineering team. The candidate will work with various technology and business stakeholders to ensure the secure rapid delivery of business value. This position will work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19.
Network Security Engineering Manager Responsibilities
Lead the Security Engineering program to include maintaining a multi-year strategy/roadmap, obtaining key stakeholder sponsorship, establishing governance, and driving the repeatable delivery of outcomes.
Manage core on-prem/Azure security services, to include remote access, network filtering, data protection, and endpoint protection.
Ensure security services enable the evolution of DevSecOps; security services are extensible, self-service, automated, built using infrastructure as code, and monitored for health/effectiveness.
Engage with, and influence, key stakeholders to ensure that compliance, security, and cross-functional requirements are met.
Clearly communicate vision, user stories, plans and project status to directs, management, and key business stakeholders.
Requires continuous self-reflection and learning of soft/technical skills to accommodate constantly changing business, cyber security, and technical landscape.
Follows all policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Network Security Engineering Manager Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science is preferred.
Certification required: GCIA, AZ500, CCNA or equivalent.
5 + years of hands on experience in the cyber security field.
2 + years of management experience; ability to lead with a strategic vision and manage operations.
Experience with cloud security, Azure preferred.
Experience in an ITIL and agile based IT organization.
Hands on experience with scripting languages; proven ability to automate.
Knowledge and experience in API security standards.
