Our client is a growing, global company in the aviation sector and has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Designer to join their team in Tualatin, OR.
You will participate as a member of an Integrated Product Team responsible for the design, fabrication and testing of mechanical systems for our Aviation client. You will be responsible for concept development to detailed design, prototype, manufacture, integration and test. This position requires attention to detail, multi-tasking ability, and disciplined follow-up. The ideal candidate must be analytical while using acquired experience to work pragmatically, capable of working within deadlines, demonstrate high standards, thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and work with minimal supervision.
Mechanical Designer Responsibilities:
Design and analyze small fixed wing and rotary wing mechanical systems, develop consoles, equipment racks, external antenna mounts, external camera mounts.
Determine requirements to meet customer specifications; work with DER’s to produce 8110’s and STC’s.
Experience in FAI, stress analysis; prepare documentation for design reviews.
Prepare drawings for manufacturing and assembly.
Develop design validation procedures.
Develop design validation test plans.
Conduct design validation tests.
Analyze test data and prepare test reports.
Mechanical Designer Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from accredited 4-year college.
2-10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering.
2-5 years’ experience in aviation.
2-5 years’ experience with SolidWorks.
Must be very team oriented and flexible about job assignments.
Experience working with libraries.
Background in structural analysis.
Knowledge of FAA certification processes.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
