IT Manager, Business Applications
Our client looking to add someone to the IT Management team.  As an IT Manager at you will not only support, serve, encourage and mentor your team(s) to reach their full potential but you will be an agent of change both inside and outside of the IT department.  This position reports to the Director of IT Operations and leads three small teams, consisting of 2 to 5 individuals, serving the Packaging and Materials segment, the Distribution segment and a team serving the global Shared Services (Finance and Accounting, Sales and Marketing, Human Resource Management) and global productivity, communication and collaboration tools.  

The IT Manager 
Leads multi-modal IT teams ensuring both the reliable and secure delivery of IT services as well as supporting business enablement through automation and continuous improvement .
Ensures value delivery through the recruitment, training and coaching of employees.
Communicates job expectations, appraising staff performance and assists with career planning and development.
partners with other leaders inside and outside of IT to help through transformation.
participates in IT governance as a member of the IT leadership team, contributing to the development of the overall IT strategy.
collaborates with their team(s) to establish both team and individual goals and objectives that aid in the delivery of corporate strategies.
defines and enhances methodologies and practices for the application life cycle management in line with best practices and practical experience of continuous improvement.
develops productive relationships with business leaders across the organization to influence how applications can enable new sources of value.
manages application life cycles through reporting, metrics and benchmarks.
manages relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of the organization.
assists with the preparation of budget for IT systems and services.
continuously analyzes current process, technologies, and vendors to identify areas of improvement.

Responsibilities
Lead teams in the adoption of agile principals, including backlog management, committing to and reliably delivering value and conducting regular retrospectives.
Assist with the adoption of application development best practices within a legacy WMS development team.
Lead a WMS system consolidation initiative.
Establish performance metrics and lead teams through continuous improvement initiatives.
Build a multi-modal application support practice that leverages both super users and IT staff for a new global Financial application.
Validate services rendered and process invoices in a timely manner.
Guide teams through innovative thought exercises exploring ways technology can drive additional business enablement and deliver greater value.
Engage with customers and potential customers to understand their needs and work with business segment leadership to build roadmaps for the expansion of digital services.
Devise and implement culture hacks that will lead to the realization of the IT department mission and vision through the exemplification of core values.
Work collaboratively with other IT Managers of Business Applications and the IT Director of Operations to align processes, strategies and staffing across business segment support teams.

Qualifications
5+ years of Business Systems Analysis and Solutions Definition.
1+ year of IT Project Management.
3+ years of IT Management leading multi-modal teams responsible for line-of-business application support and improvements.
Experience with system implementation for commercial off-the-shelf SaaS applications.
Experience in Organizational Change Management.
Comfortable working with a highly collaborative, globally distributed team as well as independently.
Excellent customer facing skills and understanding of different communication styles.
Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
Strong organizational, documentation and collaboration skills.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with a focus on existing offerings and continuous improvement.
Self-motivated with ability to adapt quickly to constantly changing environment.

Desired Skills
Experience supporting and implementing Warehouse Management Systems, Order Management Systems, Financials Systems, Human Resource Management Systems and/or Customer Relationship Management Systems.
Experience in freight forwarding, warehousing, logistics and/or supply chain management.
Experience building a software development team.
Mastery of Microsoft Office 365 and Azure DevOps.
Experience building and leading distributed teams.
