Human Resources and Payroll Specialist
Our Client is seeking an Human Resources and Payroll Specialist to join their team in Newport, OR. This position is responsible for providing Human Resource guidance, compliance and best practice advice to employees and managers as well as processing accurate and timely payroll for multiple properties and restaurants located in Newport, Oregon. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, executives and other business contacts.
Human Resources and Payroll Specialist Responsibilities
Responds to HR questions from managers and employees and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
Works collaboratively with the Corporate Office to deliver accurate and on time payroll which includes troubleshooting, entry of hours, maintenance and auditing.
Acts as a resource for employees and managers in different aspects of HR with a focus on recruiting and onboarding.
Creates, maintains and distributes daily and monthly reports to management relating to sales, labor, and other business results as directed.
Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion.
Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
Maintains the personnel filing system to include applicants, active and inactive employees.
Assists Corporate office with month end close.
Other duties as assigned.
Human Resources and Payroll Specialist Qualifications
AA Degree with 3+-years of related HR and Payroll experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be adept at using various applications such as MS Office Suite, Excel and presentation software
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with coworkers
Ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
