Electronics Shipper
Our client is seeking a Shipper to join their dynamic team in Portland, OR. Under moderate supervision this position prepares and ships outgoing packages and pallets.

Shipper Responsibilities
Prepare outgoing daily domestic and international shipments, including small parcel, LTL , and airfreight carriers, assuring timely delivery at best rates and cross charging expenses to appropriate departments.
Must be able to coordinate and ship electronic parts including lithium ion batteries in accordance with IATA and DOT regulations.
Ship special items, which usually require creative packaging and handling while meeting tight deadlines.
Maintain shipping and receiving equipment, as well as the area, including cleanliness, organization and safety in shipping/receiving.
Compliance with EAR and ITAR regulations.
Use of FedEx, UPS, DHL and third-party software to transact small parcel and LTL shipments for domestic and International customers.
Prepares Commercial/Pro Forma Invoices for international shipments.
Participates in Inventory cycle counts.
Manages and places material requisitions for shipping supplies.
Performance requires physical attendance.
While performing this job, the associate works near moving material handling equipment in a warehouse environment.

Shipper Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years’ experience in shipping and receiving operations, including usage of computerized and material handling equipment.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Valid Driver’s License Required. 
Requires strong working knowledge of shipping, courier and postal regulations, rates and delivery schedules, including domestic and international.
Computer literate in shipping/receiving programs and postage equipment.
Service oriented with good communication skills and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Mechanically inclined, possess good organization skills and have ability to problem solve with minimum supervision.
Fork lift certified or complete certification within first year of employment.
Ability to maintain and read shipping/mailing reports and determine cross charges for departments.
Able to meet daily stringent timelines.
Knowledge of packaging, shipping and receiving tools preferred.
Ability to handle disruptions and refocus quickly.
Detail oriented.
Must possess a “Can Do” attitude.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines.

Physical Job Requirements: 
Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (20-75 pounds).

Preferred Qualifications: 
Forklift certification is preferred.
