What You Will Do is:
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug hardware and firmware for electromechanical and optomechanical systems. Determine hardware compatibility and/or hardware design solutions.
Support program and control algorithms for hardware enhancements, embedded controls and new product development. Analyze and determine system hardware test standards and procedures.
Analog design, software, and hardware support with optical and mechanical integration on a system-level.
Work closely with stake holders and product marketing to define system requirements, complete feasibility tasks, and support product through production.
Design and support of test fixtures and electrical/optical test systems.
Assist in the creation of ECO’s and product maintenance tasks.
Interface with Manufacturing Engineers to ensure smooth transition to production.
Support and sustaining responsibilities.
Component selection with vendor interaction and bill of material generation.
Engineering Skills and Qualifications you will bring to the role and to our team:
BS in Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering or related field and 5+ years, or MS degree and 3+ years of relative experience and increasing responsibility within a multi-disciplined engineering team.
Knowledge of PCB Design, software, and embedded firmware.
Knowledge of circuit fundamentals and analog circuit design.
Experience with laser systems and electro-optics, preferably in laser diode instrumentation and spectroscopy instrumentation.
Embedded processor experience: ARM, 8051.
Experience with USB, RS232, GPIB, SPI, I2C protocols.
Required experience with the following Software Packages:
Altium (schematic capture, layout, library maintenance, Draftsman).
