You will be responsible for the development, design, and evaluation of electronic systems for our comm products, and collaborating with the Mechanical and Chemical Engineering teams to achieve stated product goals. Assessment of requirements, embedded system architecture, component selection, design, simulation, review, schematic capture, PCB layout, manufacturing and assembly support, debug, test, and written reports and documentation.
Utilize a variety of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools to capture schematics, lay out PCBAs, generate fabrication and assembly release packages, etc.
Operate as the sole electronics engineer on cross-functional engineering project teams.
Communicate directly or indirectly with customers in person or remotely to clarify requirements and concerns, provide project status updates.
Design and analyze electronic devices to global standards and regulations, including (but not limited to) those for safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
Support the building of test equipment, fixtures, and prototypes.
Troubleshoot design issues as they arise.
Conduct component level debug and provide solutions to complex problems.
Independently perform tests or experiments, observe and record results.
Conduct characterization level testing and reporting for components and electrical systems.
Help to build and implement documentation and process improvement within the organization.
Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
7 years of relevant RF hardware and system design for industrial electronic products.
Expert proficiency in professional Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools: Altium Designer and/or Mentor Xpedition strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience in design, development and launch of high-volume electronic products.
Operation of test equipment, including (but not limited) to oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads.
Proficiency in Design for Manufacture (DFM), Electrical Safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) including Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Signal Integrity (SI), and Power Integrity (PI).
Demonstrated mastery of embedded digital and analog electronic system design and PCB layout best practices.
Understanding of FPGA RTL development, including ability in Verilog or VHDL ideal.
Extreme proficiency in MS software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent analytical, detailing communication skills with demonstrated ability to write and speak persuasively.
Highly organized and unbelievable follow-up and follow-through.
Ability to perform under pressure, work with a wide variety of constituents and meet deadlines.
A serious sense of urgency and strong work ethic, highly intuitive, desire to show initiative.
