Our client has an immediate opening for an Electrical Designer to join their dynamic, fast-paced team in Hillsboro, OR.
Electrical Designer Responsibilities
Electrical Design for the tool installation for a large semiconductor client.
Create electrical drawings to meet design and client needs.
Perform all appropriate calculations (e.g. distribution panel loading, short circuit, voltage drop, conduit & conductor size and cable tray fill) required for the electrical design packages.
Conduct field investigations of construction site and clean room environments to verify existing conditions and incorporate findings into design packages.
Manage and incorporate electronic redlines from the Electrical Engineer using established company workflows.
Coordinate with other design disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Architectural) for design package needs.
Ensure quality control by complying with team Design and CAD standards.
Attend design review meetings, note all design comments, and pick up the resulting redlines.
Assist colleagues with CAD support.
Provide quality reviews of models and documents prepared by others to assure design and project standards are met.
Coordinate with document control personnel for review and transmission of design packages.
Electrical Designer Qualifications
High School Grad School Grad (Required for this position).
Degree in Electrical a plus.
Electrical EIT/PE a plus.
Must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours weekly on site.
Living in, or be willing to self relocate to the Portland OR area on a permanent basis.
Have good verbal and writing communication skills.
Be able to work within and contribute to a Team environment.
Provide support as a Design Team Member.
Be able to clearly provide verbal support for Electrical design and individual skill set(s).
Be willing to assist and support other discipline designs when needed.
Software experience and proficiency of use required in the following:
Autodesk AutoCAD 2D proficient (Requirement).
Autodesk 3D, Revit and/or Inventor (Requirement).
EasyPower proficient (Preferred).
Electrical Design experience required in the following:
Proficiency in understanding NFPA 70 and 79.
Proficiency in understanding NEC Class 1,2 and 3 wiring definitions.
Proficiency required in performing Calculations for the following:
Distribution Panel Loading.
Conduit & Conductor Size.
Cable Tray Fill.
Knowledge in the design of Power Circuits and I&C Systems.
Knowledge in Electrical Schematic layouts and Electrical design definitions.
Worked within a Team environment.
