Our client is seeking a Dispatch Manager to join their team. This company has a long history in the Portland area and a casual and fun environment.
Responsibilities of the Dispatch Manager
Ensure equipment is maintained based on established timeframes.
Develop safety programs and analyze safety performance.
Monitor routes in process, route updates, and track deliveries.
Plan all transportation activities (facilities, personnel, supplies, and equipment).
Perform scheduling; prepare daily work and run schedules.
Address inquiries and resolve problems with customers and staff.
Assist with onboarding of new hire drivers.
Create and run reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Dispatch Manager Qualifications
Experience in the trucking industry and Department of Transportation.
2+ years supervisory experience required; 2+ years’ experience as a driver highly preferred.
Current knowledge of the DOT compliance/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations required.
Valid Commercial A Driver's License highly preferred.
Well organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Proficient using MS Office products; familiar using ERoads preferred.
Occasional travel needed.
