The role of the Senior DevOps Engineer is to analyze, design, implement and validate strategies for continuous deployment to both hosted and cloud-based infrastructure while ensuring high availability on both production and pre-production systems. This role is responsible for the design and implementation of applications' build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. Other responsibilities include working with functional and technical teams to identify requirements, architect solutions, implement/update solutions, build and execute test plans, perform quality reviews, manage operations, and triage and fix operational issues. DevOps Engineer requires the ability to interact, develop, engineer, and communicate collaboratively at the highest technical levels with customer, peers, partners, vendors and leadership.
The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the development, maintenance and optimization of the software development environment and infrastructure, build, integration, cybersecurity and software deployment process.
Guides the team on best practices, patterns, and vision for the application and automation infrastructure.
Researches, assesses, and implements new technologies for use within infrastructure and automation processes.
Develops and manages web application infrastructure for multiple applications.
Manages and tunes databases, web application and continuous integration servers used by the various web applications.
Guides and develops automation systems for continuous integration & deployment.
Manages and maintains software cybersecurity tools and practices.
Works closely with developers to ensure that operations are aligned with design/development process. Conducts operations-related training.
Monitors applications for abnormalities and proposes areas for improvement regarding availability and speed of the applications.
Respond to any critical infrastructure related events during on-call rotation / or if an issue is escalated.
Ensure technology and infrastructure complies with corporate policies and aligns with global business needs.
Initiates and produces technology documentation and standard operating procedures.
Collaborates with teams from other departments and organizations.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 5+ years experience of DevOps Engineer experience
At least 2+ years AWS experience provisioning and managing cloud services required. AWS Solution Architect certification strongly preferred.
At least 2+ years experience with logging, performance monitoring and performance tuning tools.
Solid understanding of cloud security, identity, and compliance required, preferably in AWS.
Experience with Regulatory Compliance (PCI DSS, HIPAA, etc.) is a huge plus.
