Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team in Beaverton, OR.
DevOps Engineer Responsibilities
Maintains confidentiality of and its clients’ proprietary information.
Works closely with Data Engineering and Data Scientist Teams, supporting and improving processes.
Contributes to the on-time, accurate data delivery via a large and complex data platform in AWS.
Contribute to our continuous data availability, via execution of best practice disaster recovery planning.
Performs complex root cause analysis of problems and subsequently, make and implement recommendations to prevent future occurrences or customer impact.
Defines develops and deploys system monitoring requirements and thresholds as well as corrective actions. Improves system reliability via predictive analysis.
Participates in production incident and escalation management calls. Manages and oversees incidents to resolution.
Manages systems failure risks including critical change review and validation.
Identifies, designs and develops self-healing responses to production data pipeline issues.
Identifies and writes tools that will help automate common and critical tasks.
Designs builds, automates and deploys highly available, robust, resilient and secure solutions.
Documents all operational processes and procedures to optimize the support and management of deployed systems. Demonstrates proficiency in establishing repeatable processes.
Interacts in a cooperative and professional manner, with all levels of employees, vendors and/or clients, in a team environment.
Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.
Work on all the data types across the enterprise.
Support the data requirements of the different functional teams.
Collaborate with team members to select the right data platform technologies to meet the analytics requirements.
Support the Enterprise Data Governance model and actively promote the concept of data sharing, data reuse, data quality, and data standards.
Serve as data authority and demonstrate an understanding of key data management principles and data use.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions.
DevOps Engineer Qualifications
Three to five years’ experience in a Cloud Engineer (preferably AWS) role or related position.
Can evolve and extend Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment infrastructure.
Knowledge of web services, API, REST aπnd RPC.
Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
Interest in Cloud Engineering and its impact on greater business practices.
Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required.
