DevOps Engineer
Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team in Portland, OR. This role will be part of a high-functioning team of creative, collaborative, motivated, and professional individuals driven by the singular mission of helping all kids learn. DevOps engineers configure, deploy, monitor and triage applications in our collocated data centers. Additionally, the role will help shepherd best practices, evangelize CI/CD, and automate all of the things.

Manage, configure, patch and maintain a fleet of 2,500+ CentOS 6/7 VMs across three co-located data centers.
Automate system processes and develop tooling for easing administration burden.
Implement security best practices across Linux VMs, third-party software, and AWS services.
Participate in software development processes to support regular software releases.
Participate in the evaluation, selection and deployment of new technologies and tools.
Work with colleagues to optimize overall system performance.
Perform system audits, document findings, and publish recommendations.
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for production applications.

3+ years of experience building, deploying or operating web applications.
Experience with one of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Golang, Java, or Javascript / Node.js.
Experience with one of the following configuration management tools: Puppet, Ansible, or Chef.
Experience with one of the following infrastructure automation tools: Terraform, or CloudFormation.
Experience with some of the following tools: Jenkins, Foreman, Docker, BitBucket.
Experience with the following Linux OSes: RHEL/CentOS 6, RHEL/CentOS 7.
Proven ability to learn and troubleshoot new technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with some of the following AWS Services: CloudFront, CloudTrail, Dynamo, IAM, Lambda, Route53.
Experience with some of the following monitoring and alerting systems: Sensu, Prometheus, Nagios, New Relic, PagerDuty.
Experience with security standards and best practices, ideally experience with security assessments (i.e. SOC2, ISO, etc.)
Knowledgeable of the CI/CD tools and techniques necessary to design automated deployments using a DevOps approach.
