Desktop Support / Junior System Administrator
Our client is currently seeking a Desktop Support Engineer / Jr. Systems Administrator who is passionate about solving complex technical problems and support enterprise level technologies.
Desktop Support / Junior System Administrator Responsibilities
Provide Tier 1 end user support by maintaining and troubleshooting desktop/laptop systems and personal/network printers.
Provide Tier 1 end user software support by maintaining and troubleshooting business software and server products.
Maintain all systems in accordance with established security policies and procedures.
Writing new security procedures and policies as it relates to end user environments.
Maintain the inventory and provide accounting for company resources including software, server, workstation and laptop systems.
Performs Active Directory administration activities including creating, editing, deleting, and auditing of users, computers, and security groups under supervision.
Performs Exchange server administration activities including creating, editing, deleting, and auditing user mailboxes and distribution groups under supervision.
Responsible in the delivery and maintenance of a stable VMware Windows server environment by monitoring server performance, patching building VM’s
Provide a dependable communications environment by monitoring systems including telephone, Internet, WANs, and wireless access.
Participate in software and hardware evaluations and implementation of systems which meet the organization’s business objectives.
Work with the team to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed.
Obtain and/or maintain technical certifications necessary for continued growth and success.
Monitor and maintain daily backups across all environments.
Maintain professionalism, good attitude, and appropriate behavior with employees, contractors, vendors, and customers.
Desktop Support / Junior System Administrator Qualifications
2+ years of proven Desktop Support and\or Jr. System Administration work required.
Experience with Microsoft Windows 8.x, and 10 operating systems support.
Terminal Servers/Remote Desktop experience.
Mcafee Anti-virus or Similar experience.
Working knowledge of VMware.
Understanding of Veritas, Veeam or other Backup solutions.
Monitoring IT infrastructure.
Experience with Group Policies, Software, Security, Login and logout functions.
Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS. Cisco switches and routers a plus.
Understating of Anti-Spam and Anti-Phishing technologies a plus.
Working experience with Microsoft Visio a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell or other scripting language a plus.
Working knowledge of remote users via VPN technologies, Cisco ASA VPN a plus.
User Administration of PBX systems. Cisco CallManager a plus.
Associates degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience a plus.
MCSA / MCSE certification a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Windows Administration, Active Directory, in a Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 environment a plus.
Experience user administration of Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016 Infrastructure a plus.
Experience Internet Information Server, Web, FTP, SMTP a plus Outstanding customer service skills.
Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to be a team player and a willingness to lend a hand with any project.
Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadline.
