Data Analytics Manager
Our client is seeking a Data Analytics Manager to join their team in Springfield, OR. This role will lead data analysis processes for in support of goals and initiatives identified in our Enterprise Strategic Plan. Oversee production and quality for Analytics processes and Analytics supporting value-based payment arrangements. Ensure successful delivery of annual Plan of Record (POR) and Ad-Hoc analytics requests. Supervise and provide guidance to assigned team members regarding company policies, procedures, and workflows.
Participate in hiring process.
Train and evaluate team member performance.
Demonstrate effective leadership by coaching to improve individual performance, develop teamwork and team support, manage change and encourage innovation, build collaborative relationships, encourage involvement and initiative, and develop increased vision and commitment to goals in others.
Represent Analytics as a subject matter expert to internal and external customers.
Lead planning and execution of Analytics team projects including Analyzing health care data, utilization, quality initiatives, outcome, and performance analysis for clinical programs and value based payment arrangements.
Oversee processes for the production and quality assurance of Analytics for; Value Based Payments, Large Employer RFP requests, Joint Operating Committees, Cost-Of-Care, and Operations.
Prioritize team work, manage customer expectations and relationships, and maintain alignment of deliverables with business needs and strategic objectives
Support customer engagement and satisfaction by maintaining effective communication and transparency of work and deliverables with core stakeholders
Collaborate with other IT teams on strategies for successful integration of internal and external data sources for use in Analytics processes.
Identify opportunities for automation of Analytics processes through continuous improvement.
Partner with ITBI to automate recurring Analytics processes.
Stay current on developments in Advanced Analytics solutions, concepts and techniques such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. [JS1]
Leverage interactive and engaging visual Analytics to support leaders in better understanding data and gaining insights into best next actions.
Partner with internal departments, such as Health Services and Provider Network, related to data analysis and strategy development and achievement
Responsible for hiring, staff development, coaching, performance reviews, corrective actions, and termination of employees. Maintain broad knowledge of all positions assigned to lead and develop programs to assure ongoing training and coaching to assigned staff. Evaluate performance of team members. Review work of team members. Analyze and determine staffing, training, and process improvement needs related to department goals. Conduct and submit performance evaluations on a timely basis.
Develop and monitor annual department budgets.
Develop and implement scalable best practice Analytics processes and procedures.
Provide subject matter expertise to internal and external committees regarding Analytics and associated metrics.
Coordinate business activities by maintaining collaborative partnerships with key departments.
Actively participate as a key team member in Manager/Supervisor meetings.
Actively participate in various strategic and internal committees in order to disseminate information within the organization and represent company philosophy.
Assist in the development of capabilities and performance measurements.
Respond to ad-hoc analytic requests and perform other duties as assigned.
Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or similar research related field or equivalent work experience required.
8-10 years’ experience in medical/health insurance required and demonstrated by business experience with analyzing data and communicating insights.
Knowledge of health plan cost containment strategies including medical management interventions, provider contacting methodologies, provider networks and benefit design alternatives is essential. Strong knowledge of provider agreements and provider contracting needed.
Experience with financial modeling tools required and predictive modeling tools and program evaluation a plus.
Knowledge of provider payment structures and state and federal regulatory agency policies and procedures required.
Familiarity with NCQA is helpful but not a requirement.
Lead or management experience preferred.
Project management experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability mentoring and training of junior analysts in a supervisory or other informal leadership role preferred.
Ability to work with advanced mathematical concepts including statistics, algebra and financial analysis skills.
A clear track record of design and modeling approaches and interpretation of results will be required. Proven ability to perform difficult analytical tasks with minimal supervision.
Working knowledge of medical costs is desired, while experience with medical coding and terminology is also preferred.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
Ability to solve complex problems. Ability to deal responsibly with confidential information.
Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, SAS, R.
Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
