Cyber Security Engineer
The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for the engineering, implementing and monitoring of security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information. This position will work closely with a team of system and network admin/engineers continuously improving, designing and implementing the IT infrastructure that supports the global enterprise. The systems span 60+ remote locations, data centers and cloud data centers.
Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information.
Identify and define system security requirements.
Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs.
Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols.
Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices.
Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents.
Monitor and test applications for potential vulnerabilities.
Implement and maintain system security and data assurance via security best practices, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Designs, document, implement and participate in the testing of disaster recovery procedures.
Assists network engineer with designing and implementing LAN, WAN and firewall projects.
Documents and creates project plans and budgets.
Participate in resolving high priority incidents and outages.
Provide technical leadership and training to other team members.
Occasionally provide 24×7 on-call coverage as part of an on-call rotation.
Proven work experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer.
Experience in building and maintaining security systems.
Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security.
Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools.
Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols.
Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory components.
3+ years of experience administering Windows Servers.
1+ years of experience administering VMWare and/or Hyper-V.
1-2 years of managing and monitoring security in an IaaS, PaaS or public cloud environment.
Experience working in implementing or working in a NIST-CSF environment.
GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).
CSX-P Cybersecurity Practitioner Certification.
CCSP – Certified Cloud Security Professional.
