Our Portland manufacturing client has an opening for a Cost Accountant to support all cost accountant functions for their accounting team. This role comes with great benefits and opportunity for advancement.
Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant
Inventory and manufacturing cost accounting.
Cost reporting and analysis.
Operational and financial reporting and analysis.
Support daily cost accounting functions.
Reconcile physical counts with inventory records.
Inventory cycle review and reconciliations.
Cost accounting analysis and projections.
Make recommendations for cost accounting improvements.
Financial reporting for management.
Quarterly market analysis.
Warranty and royalty cost review.
Support audit and budgeting efforts.
Assist with month-end closing.
Other special cost accounting projects as assigned.
Ad hoc reporting as needed.
Cost Accountant Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; equivalent educations and experience.
3-5 years of cost accounting and financial analysis experience; manufacturing background preferred.
Knowledge of GAAP.
MS Office Suite experience, with skills in Excel and Word.
ERP systems knowledge; Oracle preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Organized multitasker with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Can work independently and as part of a team.
