As a member of our client’s leadership team, the Controller will take ownership of internal Accounting processes and financial reporting. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a team of accounting staff and will provide operational and strategic input to the rest of the leadership team. They are seeking someone who is comfortable working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The ideal fit for the job will be a strong communicator, has extreme attention to detail and enjoys a dynamic and fast-growing industry.
Timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Directly supervise team of (4) leading AR/AP/Payroll/fixed assets/Accountant.
Mentor and directly lead the HR Manager and Consultant Services Director.
Lead multi-state, bi-monthly payroll for over 450+ employees.
Maintain accounting process documentation.
Perform various month-end close responsibilities which include journal entries and reconciliations.
Accrual and cash-based financial statements.
Assist with projections, trends, and reports.
Monitor, plan and handle cash flow needs daily and watch monthly cash flow forecasts.
Lead bi-monthly Paychex payroll process.
Assist with tax preparation.
Allocation of Central Services.
Follow up with customers on past due accounts and negotiate payment arrangements.
Lead external and internal audit requirements.
Provide direction to existing accounting staff members, HR Manager and Consultant Services Director.
Daily interaction with management, sales team and customers.
Special projects as assigned. May perform other duties as assigned (>5%).
Active CPA Required.
BS or BA in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
7-10 years of progressively responsible hands-on accounting experience.
At least 4 years supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Strong leadership and team building experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to harmonize with all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and the Internet is required.
