Our Portland construction client is growing at a rapid pace and is in need of a Controller to oversee both their accounting and Finance departments.
Responsibilities of the Controller
Lead the continuous development and implementation of accounting and finance policy, best practice, and process improvements.
Establish and audit internal accounting controls.
Manage and train AP/AR teams.
Monthly financial statements.
Coordinate financial reporting.
Support monthly and yearly closing.
Cost of Goods audit.
Develop and recommend metrics and KPIs.
Other special projects and duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or master's degree preferred.
5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience; construction or related background highly preferred.
Job costing and analysis experience preferred.
Knowledge of GAAP.
MS Office Suite experience, with strong skills in Excel and Word.
Strong QuickBooks knowledge.
ERP systems knowledge; system implementation experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Organized multitasker with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
