Our client is looking for a Communications Specialist to join their team. This position reports to the Communications Manager and supports the President and CEO.
Communications Specialist Responsibilities
Ability to take direction and execute on complex tasks.
Represents the organization as a prime contact for executive-level communications.
Develops, writes and edits a variety of communications for the CEO.
Develops communication plans, strategies and tactics in partnership with CEO staff analysts and enterprise stakeholders that align with corporate strategy.
Drafts speeches and performs research/data gathering, working with subject matter experts both inside and outside of the company. Leads revision and version control for all written and oral communications.
Measures communication effectiveness with employees and adjusts messaging as needed.
Develops solutions to a variety of complex situations ranging from communicating business strategy to transition planning.
Ability to establish partnerships and relationships with executives, internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
Ability to promote collaboration between individuals and teams to meet company objectives.
Knowledge of effective interviewing techniques to extract both general and specific information, perspectives and viewpoints from interviewees.
Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
Proficient in PowerPoint, knowledge of presentation techniques (e.g., posture, speaker's relationship to audience, use of intonation and props, use of visual aids and pacing).
Identifies communication objectives, target audience and key messages.
Proficient in editing processes, practices, techniques, editing marks, reference materials and tools.
Communications Specialist Qualifications
6-9 years experience with Bachelor's degree or 4-7 years with Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing and/or Business.
Previous experience supporting executive level communications.
This position may include occasional travel.
