The BI Developer will play a significant role in the technical development and maintenance of the data warehouse systems. The BI Developer is responsible for working with product management, engineering, and technology operations to share in responsibilities for database design and development, database standards, and meeting product service levels. Their purpose is to create a high level of customer satisfaction by assuring the quality, stability, and performance of the software product infrastructure and offerings.
BI Developer Responsibilities
Interface with internal teams to understand requirements for data capture and processing.
Propose, design, and build database packages, processes and data structures observing best practices for performance, data integrity, and security.
Ability to understand and foreseen challenges and tasks necessary to move from single to multi-tenancy systems.
Determine best solutions to meet corporate data management needs, including batch data exports and other data services.
Support enterprise-wide data initiatives. Grasp the strategic significance of activities performed, and is motivated by accomplishing these objectives.
BI Developer Qualifications
Minimum 7 years progressive experience working with Microsoft SQL server, with particular experience in versions 2014 or higher. SQL Server Version 2017 experience is desired.
Significant working knowledge of ETL, ELT, data warehouse, operational data store, bulk data operations and performance analysis with billions of rows
Significant experience in SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and Power BI.
Ability to write and understand complex SQL Server programmable objects such as stored procedures with Dynamic SQL.
Significant experience in MDX, DAX, DML, and Power BI, Data Gateway, Power BI Desktop, SSRS Administration, Power BI Report Server and/or
Working understanding of SQL Server transactions, locking, and isolation levels.
Significant working knowledge with analytical data modeling and development of OLAP data schema to support tabular model aggregation techniques.
Familiarity with performance optimization techniques, including understanding of algorithms and data structures.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Healthcare industry experience desirable.
Strong motivation to create customer satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality end-user applications and by solving real problems for real users.
Self-starter able to work with little supervision.
Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy and tact.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to diagnose and solve problems creatively.
Ability to communicate clearly to varied audiences in writing, by phone, and in person.
Must work well in fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
