Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager
Develop and maintain client relationships in the Portland Metro Area using a consultative approach.
Present and sell business solutions and services to both existing and new clients.
Develop and execute a strategic target marketing plan to prospect and build a pipeline of potential new clients to drive revenue.
Negotiate fees and service contracts.
Deliver business presentations with appropriate solutions to meet clients' staffing needs.
Actively network in the community to build relationships and promote the VanderHouwen brand at professional groups, events, and gatherings.
Qualifications of the Business Development Manager
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Strong, proven sales background; staffing or services industry preferred.
Experience in creating successful staffing and hiring solutions for a variety of industries and company sizes using a consultative approach.
3+ years of experience in an outside sales capacity initiating and maintaining long-lasting client relationships, and negotiating service delivery contracts and fees.
Ability to make a high volume of calls to include sourcing, cold calling, and qualifying potential decision-makers.
Conduct market research and qualify target accounts within the Portland Metro area.
Maintain updated knowledge of market trends regionally and nationally to forecast client demands.
Strong, analytical and organizational skills to be comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Must be goal-oriented and a team player with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must have high integrity, commitment to delivering the highest-quality service to clients and prioritize clients' best interests.
