The primary responsibilities of the Business Analyst/Support Engineer includes assisting our clients and internal staff with technical issues and special requests, writing bug reports and technical specifications for our development team and researching marketplace changes and software improvements. The BA/SE will utilize knowledge and skills in database administration, networking, SQL Server reporting services, T-SQL and C# programming. This person is an integral part of the team who ensures that our client’s issues are resolved, software issues are quickly reported and resolved by our development team, and the company software continues to improve.
Business Analyst/Support Engineer Responsibilities
Manage multiple tasks while maintaining overall goals for the department, quality standards, and timeline.
Receives supervision and direction from department leader but, is able to work independently and manage time effectively in order to meet individual goals and deadlines.
Communicate positively and effectively with teammates and other departments to support clients and resolve client support issues.
Keep current on company services and software features.
Answer phone calls and emails regarding customer service issues.
Update and maintain internal CRM program (SalesForce.com).
Analyze and resolve issues that Technical support cannot resolve.
Provide training of internal staff and clients on the company software.
Think of and implement solutions to reduce work of Technical Support.
Develop monitoring tools to notify Technical Support staff of existing problems.
Perform database administration duties.
Map over data for client installations (when switching over from other software).
Provide technical support possible workarounds to problems.
Document “how to” documents for technical support staff.
Document detailed information how company works for technical support staff, and possibly clients.
Write out specs for new features.
Write out bug reports for developers.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Business Analyst/Support Engineer Qualifications
Bachelor degree in computer science or related field, and/or 3+ years relevant job experience.
A team player with entrepreneurial spirit, self-starter with high energy and a desire to help clients and company grow.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating easily with a diverse range of individuals.
Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
